Extrusion Operator 1st shift
Job Description:
Position Summary
Rubber extrusion operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion machinery used to manufacture rubber products according to customer specifications and quality standards. This position ensures proper material flow, machine flow, machine performance, product dimensions, and overall production efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The operator performs routine equipment adjustments, inspections, and quality checks to ensure finished products meet production requirements and company standards. Responsibilities
Mills compound, extrudes tubes, performs quality checks, delivers/returns stock carts.
Warms up compound on the mills
Slit rubber for cold feed
Uses hand trucks to move skids to/from the mill staging area
s operating instructions from the instruction sheet
Set up extruder, head, screen, pin/die, temperature setting
Feed rubber strips into extruders
Using OD sheets specifications, check dimensions of extruded tubes and just tooling accordingly to meet specifications
Mark each tube with proper identifications
Cut tubes on OD sheet specifications
Place tubes on cores
Perform quality checks
Place tubes on stock trucks
Mark each shelf with proper ID ticket
Deliver stock trucks to department
Complete production reports
Deliver compound to/from extruders to proper storage
Stripe OD surface with proper color stripe
Work safely with all aspects of the position
Closing Statement
Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening as a condition of employment. Be able to demonstrate good attendance history
Computer skills High school diploma or equivalent working experience. Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule
This position starts at $21.45 and is eligible to reach top pay by step progression increases.
