Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment. Operate various CNC-controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, and rolling mills in a fast-paced production setting, with an emphasis on safety and qualityPerforms routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.
Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate wasteUtilize scanning equipmentInspect work visually for defects according to Quality SystemsRead a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedulesTeam player and keeping safety firstMay be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team LeaderWilling/able to work overtimeQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED)A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environmentA minimum of one year operating manufacturing machinery and/or equipmentGood Communication SkillsBasic Computer SkillsExperience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail gunsAble to use of measuring gaugesAble to read a tape measureForklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forkliftCrane experience a plus / Must be trainable on craneFlexible with working overtime and weekends when neededAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

$19.25 per hour + $2.00 shift differentialShift Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 5:00 pm - 3:30 am, hours may vary depending on operationsDuties and ResponsibilitiesThe Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts. Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environmentAbility to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts.Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment. 1780 McCall Dr., Shelbyville, IN 46176This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
