Job Description
The Phosphate Make-up Operator is responsible for operating two continuous reactors, tapping off and correcting liquor batches, pumping corrected liquors to filters, filtering liquors and supplying liquor to two rotary dryers and three SHMP plants. Also responsible for operating and cleaning the liquor filters and drum filters. The Make-up operator unloads soda ash hopper cars, samples, analyzes, and adjusts ratios and specific gravity of each batch of liquor made. As needed, the operator reprocesses sodium recycle liquor from other phosphate production areas and unloads tank cars and tank wagons of caustic soda. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for this position. Please note that, at this time, we are only considering applications from local candidates. Support ESH Compliance:
Follow all plant safety procedures and requirements for all raw materials for liquor products
Follow all applicable ICL safety requirements
Follow plant emergency procedures
All Make-up operators are members of the plant emergency brigade Complete all required training
Must successfully complete RCRA introductory/orientation training
Must successfully complete RCRA annual refresher training
Perform job safely, in an environmentally sound manner and in accordance with all cGMP requirements Job Responsibilities:
Operate soda ash unloading system, unloads rail hopper cars
Unloads tank cars and tank wagons of caustic soda
Operate two continuous reactors to make phosphate liquor
Taps off liquor batches in receiving tanks, samples, corrects and analyzes
Operate liquor filtration system
Operate drum filter system for handling waste from filters
Operate dry rework pneumatic conveying system from T-1301 to T-252 to produce SHMP liquor batches
Responsible for quality, quantity and timeliness of liquor production to support production plan
Keep records of all batches made
Controls liquor tank inventory level
Corrects liquor and pumps to the three SHMP plants
Reprocesses sodium recycle liquor from phosphate areas
Ensure that production and housekeeping in assigned areas meets cGMP standards
Ensure compliance with food safety system requirements
Comply with the requirements of the ICL Lawrence Quality System
Complete daily housekeeping and sanitation requirements
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns
Generate maintenance work notifications in SAP for needed repairs
Computer entry into SAP and database
Comply with plant HACCP Program
Transfers product to hopper truck loading bins and trucks
Unloads hopper cars for use in SAPP and Central Packaging
Perform tasks as assigned by BUL
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? High School Diploma or GED required
Manufacturing experience preferred
Must be able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision, rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Must successfully complete new employee orientation and all job specific training
Must be a trained and certified fork truck operator
Ability to safely exit the plant in the event of an emergency
Have the physical ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. further than 10 feet on a frequent basis Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
