OVERVIEW
The Refined Sugar Weigher operates packaging equipment and performs multiple tasks to include filling and weighing products on various lines. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates basic packaging equipment such as 25lb, 50lb and 100lb bagging machines
Performs basic procedures such as filling coder with ink, changing coder for appropriate abstract and lot numbers
Obtains and replaces empty bags as required
Threads machines, replace needles; acquires and mounts spools of thread, tape, cord and other material as needed
Secures, places and fills bags on filling device on manual, semi-automatic or automatic scales to specified weights within tolerances required
Checks bag weights, adding or removing sugar or adjusting scales as required
Operates sewing machine and accessory equipment to close filled bags
Inspects for defective sewing and remove rejects from line
Performs necessary cleaning, oiling and adjustment of scales, sewing machines and associated equipment to maintain operational continuity WORK EXPERIENCES
Previous work experience in an industrial/manufacturing facility, or related environment
Previous experience operating packaging equipment is preferred EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED equivalent required ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
) Ability to read and adjust scales on various types of packaging equipment and related equipment
Ability to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays
Ability to perform industrial labor tasks such as but not limited to climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing and walking for long periods of time HOURLY RATE
