Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 1st Class Copper Nickel Pipefitter to join our client's shipyard team in Lockport, LA. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly fabricating, installing, and maintaining copper and nickel piping systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. Your expertise in pipe fitting, welding, and schematic interpretation will ensure the integrity and safety of our piping infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects that demand precision, technical proficiency, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble copper and nickel piping systems. Perform pipe fitting tasks including cutting, threading, soldering, bending, and assembly of pipes using hand tools and power tools. Execute various welding techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) to join pipes securely according to ASME codes & standards. Use calipers, schematics, and other measuring tools to ensure accurate pipe dimensions and alignments. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspect completed installations for quality assurance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise during construction or maintenance activities. Skills Extensive experience with MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding welding techniques. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical drawings. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, calipers, and tube bending tools. Solid understanding of ASME codes & standards related to piping fabrication and installation. Ability to perform soldering, pipe fitting, assembly, rigging, and maintenance tasks efficiently. Familiarity with construction site safety practices along with experience working in manufacturing or construction environments. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise pipe fitting tasks. Pay:
