Job Description

Material Handler responsible for operating high-reach forklifts, handling warehouse materials, supporting production flow, and following safety, quality, and operating procedures in a chemical manufacturing environment. Job Requirements High-reach forklift experience required Experience operating forklifts in a production or warehouse environment Familiarity with handheld scanning devices Ability to verify labels against products Ability to scan products from receiving dock to put-away locations Ability to use pick lists Ability to scan products from rack locations to WIP locations Ability to move product to mezzanine areas for batching Ability to follow safety, quality, security, and operations policies and procedures Experience reading and working with SOPs preferred Experience working with chemicals or light chemical manufacturing preferred Basic math skills Ability to monitor multiple processes at the same time Ability to understand and follow posted facility signage Understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures Familiarity with equipment operator manuals and safe operating procedures Understanding of hazard communication policies Ability to complete safety training and demonstrate understanding through written or verbal examination Forklift experience preferred 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision required Full range of motion to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, and kneel Ability to perform repetitive strenuous work under varying climate conditions Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to work in a plant environment with varying temperature and physical requirements Ability to work in confined spaces after required training Preferred Skills Chemical manufacturing experience Light manufacturing experience Warehouse material handling experience High-reach forklift operation experience Handheld scanner experience SOP documentation experience Lock-out/tag-out procedure experience Hazard communication policy experience Confined space work experience Tank cleaning experience using shovels, air tools, or related equipment Job Responsibilities Follow standard operating procedures, company policies, and safety regulations Use required PPE for each assigned task Maintain PPE in safe and usable condition Operate forklifts and production equipment as trained Move materials from receiving docks to put-away locations Pick, scan, and move product from rack locations to WIP locations Push product to mezzanine areas for batching Verify product labels and material accuracy Use handheld scanning devices for inventory and material movement Monitor product quality during the production process Alert supervisors of potential out-of-compliance issues Perform startup and shutdown activities as directed Maintain accurate counts and document products produced or used Keep production lines organized, clean, and free of hazards Grease, adjust, or clean specific production line parts as part of autonomous maintenance Participate in cross-training across plant line positions Perform general labor duties as needed to meet production needs Train laborers and new manufacturing associates Attend safety meetings Conduct safety audits Support safety targets set by supervisors and management Clean tanks or mix tanks on a rotating schedule after confined space training Use shovels, air tools, or other equipment during confined space tank cleaning tasks
Pay:
