$25.00 - $35.00 / hour (Based on experience & licensing)

Full-time Job Overview We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join our field operations team. This is not just a "moving dirt" role; you will be responsible for the precision execution of high-end hardscape and landscape projects. You will operate Bobcats (Skid Steers), Mini-Excavators, and other heavy machinery to prepare sites for concrete pours, retaining walls, and large-scale plantings.

Key Responsibilities Precision Operation:

Expertly operate Skid Steers (Bobcats), Mini-Excavators, and Front-end Loaders in tight residential and expansive commercial environments.

Site Preparation:

Perform grading, trenching, and sub-base preparation for concrete flatwork, pavers, and drainage systems.

Equipment Maintenance:

Conduct daily "walk-around" inspections and basic maintenance (greasing, fluid checks) to ensure machine longevity and safety.

Safety & Coordination:

Work closely with the Site Superintendent and laborers to ensure safe digging practices, including active monitoring of underground utility markings.

Loading & Transport:

Assist in loading/unloading materials and securing equipment on trailers for transport between job sites.

Requirements Experience:

3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment specifically for landscape construction or site work .

Licensing:

A valid Massachusetts Hoisting License (2A/1C) is highly preferred.

Technical Skill:

Ability to read site plans and use laser levels to ensure accurate grading and elevations.

Physical Ability:

Must be willing to jump out of the cab and assist the ground crew with manual labor when the machine is not in use.

Reliability:

Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to our Hudson yard or job sites.
