Job Description

Job Description Heat Trace Products, LLC, manufacturer of self-regulating heater cable, is seeking a Standard Braider and Extrusion Operator. This operator will learn the processes involved in turning raw materials into finished product. This role will be responsible for: Gathering materials Setting up, running, and shutting down production line(s) and equipment Troubleshooting equipment issues Performing quality checks and inspection Monitoring production line (i.e. walking the line) Moving reels of cable by use of pallet jack, forklift, etc. Alerting the Production Manager of any and every issue Cleaning as instructed/needed Helping out in various areas of the plant, not necessarily related to production Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds If you have applied to Heat Trace Products previously, or are a former employee of Heat Trace Products, please

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate equipment necessary in the manufacturing of heater cable (extruder, braider, capstan, take-up, pay-off, etc.) Cleaning work area, equipment, and plant as instructed/needed (before shift, during shift, end of shift, etc.) Able to work from written and oral instructions Able to read, understand and speak English fluently Able to read and understand a work order (operation, materials, part numbers, etc.) Measure and perform quality inspections of materials and products using equipment such as a Caliper and Multimeter Complete all required paperwork such as labor reports, material moves, work order tracking sheets, etc. Enter necessary information into computer as instructed (using Microsoft Word and Excel) Communicate openly and honestly with Production Manager about work-related items including machine and process-related issues, safety hazards, quality concerns, etc. Maintaining and implementing organization (5S) Assist and/or carry-out experiments and testing assigned by Production Manager Timely and attentive to their work Actively works towards mastery over Process(es) Works toward zero scrap, zero defects, zero downtime, etc. Assist in physical inventory and monthly cycle counts. Qualifications:
The candidate must have a high school diploma, or equivalent. This candidate will engage with the Production Manager on a daily basis, therefore open and honest communication is of the utmost importance. This is not a solo operation, but very much team driven. The ability to communicate and collaborate with a team is necessary. The want and ability to learn something new is essential. This candidate needs to ask questions, take notes, and alert the trainer/Production Manager when information/clarification is necessary. Training material is limited, so it truly is up to the candidate to seek the information necessary to succeed in their position. Being able to adapt to the changing needs of our customers is crucial.
Desireables:
Basic electrical knowledge is a
HUGE PLUS
(i.e. understanding resistance, amperage, voltage, Ohm's law, Watt's law, how to use and read a multimeter, etc.). Manufacturing experience, SPECIFICALLY wire and cable, and/or extrusion, is a
HUGE PLUS. ERP/MRP
experience is a
HUGE PLUS.
Forklift experience is a plus. Familiarity with 5S is a plus.
