Quilting Machine Operator Webster, MA Apply Job Purpose:
The Quilting Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining quilting machines used in the production of bedding products such as mattresses, toppers, and pillows. This role involves ensuring the quality and efficiency of the quilting process, troubleshooting machinery issues, and collaborating with other team members to meet production goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
\~Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation, including loading of fabric, foam, FR backing, and Quilt backing. \~Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, panel quilting and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials. \~Works with both panel and border cutting equipment, as well as operating Flanger sewing machine \~Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing. \~Monitors the process using meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications \~Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment. \~Responsible for threading and changing needles. \~Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements. \~Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products per specified standards. \~Verifies and measures cut panels per standard (every 10 units) \~Follows the quality compliance batch sheet. \~Maintains raw material inventory. \~Performs routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance on equipment. \~Ensures a clean and organized work area, performing a daily cleaning process. \~Follows all safety policies and procedures defined by the company safety program and OSHA regulations to prevent work related injuries
Experience and Skills Required:
\~3+ years experience in a manufacturing operations environment. \~3+ years experience operating quilting machines or other textile machinery. \~Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. \~Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. \~Ability to work independently and as part of a team. \~Good communication and record-keeping skills. \~Ability to speak, read, and write in English or Spanish \~Basic math skills for measuring and setting machine parameters. \~Ability to stand, bend, lift and/or move material for extended periods of time Click Here To View Full Job Description Active Filters Quilting Machine Operator Webster, MA Clear All Apply
