Job Title:
Compounding Technician Job Description Join a dynamic team where you will accurately measure and mix ingredients according to specific formulations and recipes. Your role will involve performing precise weighing and calculations to ensure correct ingredient proportions and meticulously following batch cards to prepare batches according to specifications. You will operate and maintain compounding equipment and machinery while conducting product inspections to ensure all products meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Provide samples for quality control testing for the lab. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Document all processes and maintain accurate records of batches. Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure consistency and quality of products. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the compounding process. Essential Skills Experience with compounding, GMP, mixing, and batch making. Knowledge in production, weighing, distillation, chemical processes, and laboratory operations. Proficiency in operating blenders and other production equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in food science or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a compounding or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food and beverage industry. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation. Ability to lift and move heavy ingredients and equipment as needed. Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing-type setting with a family-owned company culture that values hard work and a positive attitude. The company provides a uniform, and during the hot summer months, you can wear shorts. The environment is independent, requiring you to be smart and capable of running various calculations for product specifications. Expect to interact at various levels, and be prepared for straightforward communication. Enjoy barbeque week during the summer and bagel/pizza parties as part of the work-hard, play-hard culture. You will work with expensive ingredients and must maintain solid attention to detail. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abingdon, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
