Job Description

Position Summary The Bindery Helper supports production operations by preparing and finishing printed materials according to established quality standards. This role ensures efficient workflow, maintains production quality, and contributes to a safe and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Production Catch and band all types and sizes of materials coming off folders Assemble boxes and power packs before and during production runs Read and follow instructions on bindery job jackets Enter job information into the PSI system at the start and completion of each job Stock worktables with necessary materials (bands, tape, load tickets, rubber bands) Maintain a clean and organized bindery area Perform routine maintenance tasks: Blow off machines using an air hose Clean air pump filters Oil folders and sweep floors as needed Mix and refill water score systems as needed Move materials to designated locations using a pallet jack or forklift Work overtime and weekends as required based on production needs Quality Control Review and understand job instructions prior to starting work Maintain quality standards throughout the production process Obtain job approval from a supervisor or lead operator Minimize material waste Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma preferred Up to one month of related experience or training preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Skills & Abilities Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain quality standards Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus
