Machine Operator
Job Title:
Machine Operator
  • Press BrakeJob DescriptionThis role operates press brake equipment on the second shift to bend and form sheet metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
You will set up and program the press brake, perform precise adjustments, and complete quality checks to ensure each part meets production and safety standards. The position requires consistent attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Program the press brake and enter dimensional information into the machine software to achieve accurate bends and forms
  • Adjust angles, flange lengths, and other parameters to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machine settings, tooling requirements, and material needs
  • Perform in-process and final quality checks on finished products to verify they meet specifications, making adjustments as needed
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting basic malfunctions, and coordinating repairs when necessary
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards while following all established safety protocols and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support efficient workflow, meet production schedules, and resolve issues that may affect output or quality
  • Document production activities accurately, including materials used, parts produced, and any adjustments made during the process
  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent, high-quality production
  • Participate in training and development activities to build skills in press brake operation, fabrication, and related processes.
Essential Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a press brake machine, specifically in bending sheet metal
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications
  • Basic mechanical skills and solid understanding of press brake operations and setup
  • Ability to perform precise measurements and make accurate dimensional adjustments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively within a team
  • Good communication skills in English; ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination for handling sheet metal and operating machinery safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CNC press brake programming and operation
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication and related manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with punch press and general machine operation in a production environment
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with production targets
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus and can support communication in a diverse team
  • Willingness to participate in extensive on-the-job training and continuous skill development.
