Machine Operator Ashland, ME
  • Temp-to-Hire Opportunity Schedule:
    Full-time/Nights; 5:00 PM
  • 5:00 AM.
Four days per week, Monday through Friday with rotating day off.
Payrate:
$22.37/hr. + $2.00/hr. night shift differential. Attendance bonuses available.
Job Description:
Now seeking dependable Machine Operators to join a well-established sawmill operation in Ashland. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and want to build skills in an industrial production environment. Benefits are available after temp-to-hire period. The Machine Operator plays an essential role by handling the production of high-quality lumber products. This position involves operating and monitoring machinery, inspecting materials for quality, assisting with basic maintenance, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. Ideal candidate will have good communication skills, strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
Operate production machinery, such as saws, conveyors, and planers. Load/unload raw materials and finished products from equipment or work areas. Inspect finished lumber to ensure that products conform to quality standards. Keep work areas clean and organized. Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures as directed by site supervisor. Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns in a timely manner. Perform other relevant duties as requested by site supervisors.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent education required. At least 1-2 years of experience operating sawmill machinery or similar production equipment.
