Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Sawyer to join our manufacturing team. The Sawyer is responsible for operating lumber saw equipment and accurately cutting lumber to specifications for truss and panel production. This position plays a key role in maintaining production flow while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met. Responsibilities Operate automated and/or manual lumber saw equipment safely and efficiently Read cut lists, production paperwork, and measurements accurately Cut lumber to required specifications for truss and panel production Stack, sort, and organize cut lumber for production teams Inspect lumber for defects or damage before and after cutting Maintain a clean and organized work area around saw equipment Monitor saw performance and report maintenance or equipment issues Follow production schedules and meet daily productivity goals Assist with material handling and other production support tasks as needed Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE Qualifications Previous manufacturing, saw operation, or lumber experience preferred Ability to accurately read a tape measure Basic math and measurement skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Frequently lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs. Repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, and stacking motions Ability to work in an environment with dust and noise exposure Working Conditions Indoor manufacturing facility Exposure to moving machinery, saw equipment, dust, and varying temperatures Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
