Job Description

The Machine Shop Helper supports day-to-day operations within the Industrial Machine Shop by assisting skilled trades employees with material handling, machine setup, housekeeping, and related production support tasks. This is an excellent entry point for individuals interested in developing a career in skilled trades at Hatch Stamping Company. No prior experience is necessary as we are willing to train the right candidate. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow in the metal stamping industry Key Responsibilities Assist machinists and tool & die tradespeople with setup, teardown, and material staging Load and unload raw materials, parts, and tooling as directed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance Transport materials, tooling, and finished parts between departments using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or overhead crane (training provided) Support preventive maintenance activities and assist with minor machine upkeep tasks Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Ability to read basic work instructions and safety signage Physical ability to stand for extended periods, push, pull and lift up to 30 lbs., and work in a manufacturing environment Reliable attendance and punctuality record Willingness to work any shift, including overtime and Saturdays as needed Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and take direction from supervisors and skilled tradespeople Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, industrial setting, or shop class Basic familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments Experience operating a forklift or overhead crane (or willingness to obtain certification) Some of our Outstanding Benefits Hatch Stamping offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.
