3-Axis Laser Operator (CO₂ Laser Cutting)
About Us:
We are a fast-paced prototype and low-volume manufacturing company specializing in precision sheet metal fabrication. Our team supports a wide range of industries with high-quality, quick-turn solutions. We are looking for a skilled and motivated 3-Axis Laser Operator to join our growing team.
Position Summary:
The 3-Axis Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CO₂ laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality sheet metal components. The ideal candidate has experience working in a prototype or job shop environment and is comfortable handling a variety of materials and part complexities.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate 3-axis CO₂ laser cutting machines Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions Load/unload raw materials (sheet metal) and manage material flow Perform basic machine setups, including nozzle changes and focus adjustments Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment Work closely with programming, quality, and production teams to meet deadlines Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience operating CO₂ laser cutting machines preferred Experience with Amada and/or Prima laser systems strongly preferred Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T concepts Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work in a fast-paced, prototype manufacturing environment Basic computer skills (machine interface, file selection, etc.) Forklift experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
