Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Operate fabrication machines to modify metal parts to specifications. Our 3rd shift schedule is Sunday night thru Friday morning, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Overtime, when necessary, is required and may occur by extended work-days/work-hours and/or weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Download computer program to machine. Set up and operate fabrication machine to produce parts to specification. Control and monitor the material flow. Set up and operate fabrication machine. Set up tooling in proper locations, as required. Ensure components meet required dimensions, inspect for quality, and fit to print. Select testing procedures, appropriate devices and then execute. Perform required maintenance and calibration. Observe the regulations regarding environmental protection, work safety, and efficiency. Coordinate work with operations before and after them in the process chain Shuttle parts within plant, as required. Complete production log of finished parts. Log into and out of jobs on NAV system, entering completed parts and scrapped parts and their locations. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be self-motivated. Must have high attention to details. Must have ability to use common measuring tools and able to measure parts to tolerances of thousandths of an inch. Must have ability to operate equipment. Must have mechanical abilities. Must be able to maintain equipment. Must be a team player. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common prints, CAD drawings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers. Must maintain absolute confidentiality in all areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to: company designs, manufacturing processes, tooling, and other company trade secrets. Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions using calculator or PC. Ability to use common plant measurement tools. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables under strict manufacturing and product standards. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required. Certificate in relevant area from tech or trade school preferred. Minimum two years machine operation, experience in metal fabrication environment preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co-workers. The employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. The employee may occasionally be required to traverse within the facility. The employee will constantly operate equipment and handle material that requires dexterity, grip, and detection of minute details in material using their hands, fingers, tools and/or equipment. The employee may be required to ascend/descend and position themselves around equipment, tools, and fixturing. The employee must frequently move, lift, and/or transport components, tools, and equipment ranging from 10 - 60 pounds. The employee may be required to travel within the facility. Specific abilities required by this job include the ability to perceive items up close, observe items in the distance, distinguish between colors, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position will function in a factory environment with assembly and welding operations. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. The work environment is occasionally dusty.
