- $22 to $24/hr Job Description This role involves operating equipment, following strict safety and cleanroom procedures. Responsibilities Operate mixing equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Manually load raw materials into mixers by lifting and physically dumping bags, containers, and other material packages
- this task often requires climbing stairs while carrying materials up to 100lbs and must be performed safely and efficiently as part of daily operations Operate overhead hoists or cranes to lift and position large or heavy materials into industrial mixers Cleaning of the equipment throughout the day several times a day Complete daily documentation and audits, as required by position Follow established work instructions Adhere to safety requirements at all times, including the use of proper PPE Wear and properly use a full-face respirator mask and protective suit during powder handling and mixing operations.
Work safely around slurry and chemicals created when powder comes into contact with acid and water, following all PPE and handling protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with cleanroom and 5S principles, including regular use of wash stations to prevent contamination. Follow all cleanroom gowning procedures, including wearing required suits, masks, safety vests, safety shoes, and gloves if applicable in certain areas. Adhere to production schedules and support general production tasks as needed in a large-scale manufacturing environment. Perform basic machine operation and general production duties while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Walk frequently between buildings and across the plant as needed to support production operations. Essential Skills A minimum of 1+ years of manufacturing experience. Basic computer skills are required Must be able to use a keyboard, mouse, and trackpad, internet browser, and perform basic tasks in Microsoft Office suite Basic math skills are required Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals with or without the use of a calculator Comfort working with and consistently wearing PPE, including a full-face respirator mask and protective suit. Ability to carry and repeatedly lift 100-pound bags of material up and down stairs and ladders multiple times per day Ability to stand, bend, reach, and bend during the entirety of the shift Willingness to work around chemicals, slurry, and powders while strictly following safety procedures. Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (day or night) on a 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on repeating schedule. Work Environment The role is based in a very large, modern manufacturing facility where employees walk frequently between buildings and across the plant. This Department operates as a cleanroom, requiring employees to wear cleanroom PPE, along with a full-face respirator mask and protective suit similar to a painter's suit when handling powders. The environment is meticulously clean, temperature controlled, and brightly lit, with a strong focus on 5S principles and workplace organization. The mixing process can be dirty, with potential contact with powders and slurry; however, wash stations and appropriate PPE are provided to minimize exposure. The position follows a 12-hour shift schedule (6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for day shift or 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for night shift) on a rotating 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on schedule, resulting in 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with work occurring every other weekend.
