Compounder Crown Staffing•3.5 Plymouth, MI Job Details Full-time From $18 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications Teamwork Food processing plant High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility HACCP Full Job Description Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Compounders to fill openings with a local Manufacturing company in Plymouth, MI. Position Summary•The Compounder is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, blending, and processing raw ingredients to manufacture food products according to established formulas, quality standards, and production schedules. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product consistency, food safety, and compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and company procedures. The Compounder will operate mixing and processing equipment, complete production documentation, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to batch formulas and production instructions. Operate blending, mixing, pumping, and processing equipment safely and efficiently. Verify raw materials and lot numbers before beginning production batches. Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and product consistency throughout the manufacturing process. Perform in-process quality checks and notify supervisors of any deviations or concerns. Complete all batch records, production logs, and quality documentation accurately. Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, SQF, and food safety standards. Clean and sanitize tanks, mixers, utensils, pumps, hoses, and production areas according to sanitation procedures. Follow all safety guidelines and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Assist with inventory control, raw material staging, and material movement as needed. Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Management teams to ensure production goals are achieved. Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized, and audit•ready work environment.
Qualifications:
Education•High School Diploma or GED required. Technical training in food manufacturing, chemistry, or related field preferred. Experience•1-3 years of manufacturing, food production, compounding, blending, or batching experience preferred. Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong mathematical and measurement skills. Ability to accurately follow formulas, recipes, and work instructions. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to read and complete production records and documentation. Basic computer skills for production reporting and inventory systems. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced production environment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and twisting. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work around food ingredients, processing equipment, and manufacturing machinery. Ability to wear required PPE and work in varying production environments.
