Extrusion Machine Operator All shifts Pay up to 22/hr Job Description This role focuses on operating and setting up extrusion machines used to process polymer materials in a fast-paced, controlled manufacturing environment. You will handle machine setup, monitor production parameters through a computerized interface, support packaging activities, and maintain a clean and safe work area while working with high-tech 3D printing equipment. Responsibilities Operate single-screw extrusion machines to extrude polymer materials according to production specifications. Set up extrusion machines by changing out screws, adjusting rollers, and configuring machine settings. Use the machine's computer interface to adjust temperature, speed, and other process parameters to maintain consistent product quality. Load and unload spools of material from the machines safely and efficiently. Assist packaging personnel by helping package cartridges while machines continue running. Monitor machines during operation to identify and address basic issues with minimal direction. Become cross-functional in other production areas as needed to support overall manufacturing operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with facility standards. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment such as respirators and protective suits. Lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds periodically during the workday. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in a machine operation role in a production or manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience operating extrusion machines or similar production equipment. Ability to operate single-screw extrusion machines with limited supervision. Proficiency in basic machine setup, including changing screws and adjusting rollers. Comfort using computerized machine controls to adjust temperature, speed, and other settings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with extrusion processes involving polymer materials. Experience in general production or manufacturing operations. Comfort assisting with packaging activities while machines are running. Ability to become cross-functional in multiple production areas. Work Environment The position is based in a fast-paced, controlled manufacturing environment that emphasizes safety and cleanliness. The facility is clean and climate controlled, providing a comfortable setting for working with advanced 3D printing and extrusion equipment. Team members wear respirators and protective suits as part of the required personal protective equipment. The role involves regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as standing and moving around production areas throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minnetonka, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
