Clean Room Supervisor General Description:
Support liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and rubber molding operations in the clean room. Clean molds, mixing equipment, and machine components. Set up molds, barrels, and material to meet molding schedule. Perform minor troubleshooting and first shots to support the goal of producing rubber parts that meet the customer's expectations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Support LSR molding and other molding operations by setting and pulling molds, and setting and pulling barrels and screws. Clean barrels and screws, mixing equipment and utensils. Inspect and clean molds. Mix material for LSR molding. Ability to disassemble, clean, set up and trouble shoot Nexus LSR pump systems. Minor troubleshooting at molding set up and run first good cure to verify setup was successful. Run presses to mold rubber parts as assigned. Operate equipment, use tools and/or perform manual tasks related to any of the manufacturing processes used to produce products according to procedures/standards. Able to learn assigned duties in the clean room. Follow approved methods and client specifications to perform any Designated Operator jobs. Cure checking of parts may be required. Follow approved methods to perform mold changes on all types of presses in the clean room. Follow current department procedures regarding proper work allocation. Follow established ISO Procedures. Accurately record/communicate data using ERP system (APPX). Use proper line clearance procedures to ensure segregation of parts and material. Use information on JIS to understand and follow special instructions. Use information on bin tags to understand and follow routing process. Perform work demanding a high degree of care when handling molds to avoid damage. Effectively communicate with Leads, Supervisors, Engineers, and co-workers within and between departments as necessary to efficiently complete tasks or convey information. Demonstrate flexibility and a sense of urgency. Actively foster an atmosphere of teamwork. Follow strict rules and guidelines necessary to maintain our ISO Certifications. Follow standard safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements. Identify and communicate opportunities for continued improvement. Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance. Willing to work overtime as requested or required.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards at all times to ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees. Keep working area orderly by complying with 6-S Program. Maintain proper segregation of rubber at presses. Learn additional processes in other departments as needed. Provide assistance in other departments as needed with limited supervision. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent desired. Has basic computer skills. Several years of experience setting up and pulling molds, and barrels and screws of injection machines. Familiar with LSR molding and/or rubber molding and able to apply that knowledge to learn our systems. Experience cleaning barrels and screws of injection machines - preferably with LSR materials. Ability to work well with others and build positive working relationships. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Must be able to follow detailed instructions. Ability to learn inspection techniques procedures. Has neat, legible handwriting (or printing). Ability to learn and use, scales and other measuring devices. Is fully proficient - ability to set up as well as mold all products in molding Department. Is reliable with limited number of unplanned absences. Is responsible, dependable and uses time well. Is focused and able to work independently and at a steady pace. Able and willing to responsibly and reliably work in other areas without supervision.
