Machine Operator This role involves operating manual machining equipment to produce steel sprockets, gears, and related components. You'll start on an engine lathe boring steel parts, then train on additional manual machines as you grow. The job requires mechanical aptitude, daily measurement work, and comfort in a high‑volume production environment. Responsibilities Operate an engine lathe to bore centers of steel parts Run manual machines such as lathes, broach machines, presses, and drill presses Use micrometers and calipers to verify part accuracy Record measurements and production data Perform light machine maintenance and apply coolant Operate an overhead crane for heavier parts Support high‑volume production and maintain workflow Follow safety procedures in a loud, manual machining environment Essential Skills 1+ year using micrometers in a shop or production setting Proficiency with precision tools Basic math skills for measurements and adjustments Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for most of the shift Manual machine operation experience Willingness to learn multiple machines Preferred Metal manufacturing experience Manual machining experience Blueprint reading Welding or CNC exposure Why Work Here Stable, privately held company with a small‑team environment Climate‑controlled shop with manual machines Profit sharing after direct hire, competitive benefits, PTO, and nine paid holidays No mandatory overtime or weekend work Boot reimbursement and provided PPE Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of
