GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of Rink Manager and Assistant Manager, the position of Ice Resurfacer Operator at Pagel Activity Center is responsible for making quality ice at designated times in a safe manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operates the ice resurfacer and complies with all related rules and safety regulations Assisting in set-up and clean-up for rink events Ensure ice rentals remain as scheduled. Oversee the rink and surrounding areas. This includes ice makes, cleaning, safety, and behavior of guests Handle services for the general public, provide information and quality customer service, and resolve issues. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of ice arena Follows arena opening and closing procedures Enforce arena policies Performs skate sharpening duties and complies with all related safety requirements. Supervising and training youth hockey volunteers in concessions, scoreboard operation, and other areas assigned Perform and accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills Required:

Ability to operate ice resurfacer and other hand tools in a safe and efficient manner Ability to be able to maintain a professional attitude and active role, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (weather, upset or injured patron, etc.) Ability to contribute to a positive work environment Ability to follow directives and enforce arena policy Ability to work independently, set priorities and complete work on a timely basis Ability to effectively communicate, courteously and professionally with players, coaches, officials, athletic directors, and board members Ability to work in a cold air environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a valid Driver's License for operating a motor vehicle
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
