Full Job Description Purpose/Summary:

Entry-level machine operators often use precise measuring instruments and equipment, perform mathematical calculations, and work under the supervision of an experienced machinist.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains milling machines. Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to understand the requirements of the job. Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Maintains inventory of completed products. Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects. Maintains a safe and clean workstation. Completes assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices. This regards to individual safety, the safety of other employees, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace. Wears approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person or management.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions may consist of loud noise, vibratory tools, and repetitive motions, airborne particles such as metal dust and chips and exposure to chemicals, fumes and bright light. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, lifting, and twisting with periodic bending.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate Previous CNC Mill experience preferred Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts preferred Ability to perform simple math including addition and subtraction. Ability to read basic blueprints. Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions. Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.

Pay:

$19.50 - $25.00 per hour
