Job Title:
Mixer Operator Job Description The Mixer Operator oversees and controls the mixing process for the production team, using an automated system to select and run the correct recipes while performing quality checks and making adjustments as needed. This role combines computer-based monitoring with hands-on tasks, including connecting totes and adding ingredients during manual steps in the process. Responsibilities Operate an automated mixing system using a touch screen computer to select and run the correct production recipes. Monitor the mixing process throughout each batch to ensure the mixture meets required specifications. Perform regular quality checks during mixing to verify consistency, accuracy, and proper formulation. Troubleshoot and adjust the mixing process when quality checks indicate the mixture is not accurate. Connect totes and add additional ingredients during manual stages of the mixing process, following established procedures. Follow production instructions and batching procedures to ensure consistent and reliable output. Maintain a clean and organized work area around the mixing equipment and related production stations. Communicate effectively with the production team to coordinate workflows and address any process issues. Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational standards while working with automated and manual mixing equipment. Essential Skills At least 1 year of mixing or blending experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proficiency using computers, including touch screen systems, to follow and execute blending recipes. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, recipes, and quality checks. Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions, recipes, and production documentation. Experience working in a production or batching environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with batching processes in a manufacturing setting. Comfort working with automated systems and learning new production technologies. Ability to troubleshoot basic process issues and make appropriate adjustments. Willingness to cross-train into additional roles such as blow molding, forklift operation, or maintenance. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility where plastic bottles are produced using uniloy blow molds, resulting in a warm work environment. Lighting is mid-level—neither dark nor extremely bright—providing a balanced visual setting on the production floor. Work is organized in two primary shifts: a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and a second shift from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may occur directly before the first shift or after the second shift, depending on production needs. The position involves working around automated mixing systems, touch screen computer interfaces, and manual ingredient handling within an active production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
