Job Description Job Summary The Field Support Technician reports directly to the Technology Operations Manager or Service Manager and is responsible for providing customer support through the performance of on-site installations, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of on machine systems and technical customer training. The Field Support Technician is responsible for the professional installation and commissioning of 2D and 3D machine control systems and telematics on all machine types. The Field Support Technician is responsible for delivering quality technical assistance in a timely manner. Customer satisfaction is the key component of the Field Support Technician's success.
Responsibilities:
Primary resource in providing on machine installation, repair, and maintenance on construction. Heavy Civil Construction technology at the customer's site or shop setting.
Provides on-site troubleshooting as requested by the sales and technical support organizations
Ensures that installation and other work necessary is completed on time.
Documents and reports field activities as well as being pro-active in creating process improvements
Ensures the operational quality of the system by documenting post-installation tests
Drives revenue based upon performance of services for construction machine customers
Requirements Qualifications:
Education:
Two year college or vocational degree in hydraulic or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy equipment machines.
Familiarity with construction site operations using heavy equipment machine controlled systems is
desired.
Experience in Arc welding is necessary
Operation of heavy construction equipment a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine control products
Familiarity with heavy equipment and hydraulic systems required
Able to follow both routine and advanced procedures and to think analytically.
Ability to plan and organize work with minimal supervision
Demonstrates sound business judgment and decision making skills.
Excellent verbal, written and problem solving skills
Experience working in a team environment
Must have a basic understanding of using a PC including Microsoft Office applications such as
Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point Physical Requirements:
