This role is essential to maintaining product quality, maximizing machine efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Training is provided for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Change the machine settings from one envelope style and size to another, minimizing downtime. Maintain the quality of the envelopes being produced, including folding, printing, gumming, latexing, and any other attachments. Ensure proper approvals for every job manufactured. Actively participate in and support lean manufacturing activities. Prepare necessary parts and attachments before machine changes to reduce downtime. Seek management guidance when quality is compromised for machine speed. Ensure the correct gum is used for each job, including seal gum, back gum, window gum, or any special gum required. Maintain accurate records of repairs, changes, and maintenance performed. Monitor machine for wear and tears, reporting any issues to the department supervisor. Continuously review each job for potential process improvements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety protocols and regulations. Collaborate effectively with operators, floor operators, and adjusters across shifts and departments. Complete scheduled maintenance and additional duties as assigned
Compensation:
$19.00-$22.50 per hour, based on experience, plus a $1.50 per hour night shift differential
Shifts Available:
Night Shift:
6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Rotating Schedule (Includes Various Weekends): Week 1: 48 hours (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday) Week 2: 36 hours (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday) Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude preferred; prior experience is a plus but not required. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to read and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions Good communication and teamwork skills Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Previous machine operation or mechanical experience is a plus but not required On-the-job training provided for motivated candidates Physical Requirements & Work Environment This role requires: Regular standing and frequent use of hands for handling materials and machine adjustments. Occasional walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities, including color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work flexible shifts.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.50 per hour
