Baler Operator (Full-Time) (1st Shift)
Location:

About the Role The Baler Operator is responsible for operating balers to process scrap from the envelope manufacturing process. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient production environment by handling scrap, trash, and recyclable materials, and assisting other departments as needed. This position also supports the cutting deparment. Duties & Responsibilities Rotate full scrap paper containers in the production area with empty containers. Remove full trash cans and replace with empty cans. Operate 3 balers and perform basic maintenance. Maintain a clean and orderly work area; ensure department is clear of clutter. Weigh and load bales onto the recycle truck. Record bale weight sheet and daily production sheet. Assist the cutting department as needed. Use forklift and/or pallet jack to move paper skids throughout the plant. Assist material handlers with loading and moving skids; use forklift to store or remove cartons from racks. Keep Supervisor informed of concerns or issues that may affect operations. Perform work to meet production standards, schedules, and deadlines. Perform other related duties as assigned. Cutting Department Assistant
  • Responsibilities Transport printed sheets/paper from printing to the cutting department in a timely manner.
Ensure cutters have the correct materials, quantities, and job specifications before and during production. Monitor cutting schedules and anticipate material needs to prevent downtime. Move completed die-cut blanks from the cutting department to the appropriate location (e.g., staging area or next machine). Maintain organization of materials and work areas to support efficient workflow. Communicate with cutters and supervisors to prioritize jobs and resolve material shortages quickly. Required Skills & Abilities Forklift certification required. Minimum one year forklift experience required. High mechanical aptitude preferred. Basic math skills required. Ability to use or learn basic computer programs. Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift 30-40 pounds consistently. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 30-40 pounds consistently.
