This individual will work under the direction of the Production Manager and Department Team Leader(s). The operator will perform tasks critical to packaging our products as well as perform quality inspections and verify that product is in conformance with the specified requirements. As an employee, this individual must consistently demonstrate The Volpi Way fundamentals behaviors.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Obtain Knowledge of production SKU's Effectively demonstrate proper use of manual/hand pallet jack equipment (not motorized) Palletize finished cases/pallets Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as directed by Team Leader (MSS Tasks) Notify Team Leader/ Manager of product, quality issues Able to prepare and load product into packaging equipment and/or cases Able to assist with film and bag preparation/loading Able to hand apply labels to products and cases Complete other duties as assignedCandidate Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent GED is preferred. Must be able to understand work instruction in English. Must be able to do basic (elementary level) arithmetic functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to make coordinated movement of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble large and small objects. Must be able to use a knife as needed to cut and prepare meat as instructed. Must be able to stand for entire shifts with periodic, bending, reaching, stooping, and lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Must be able to safely walk and work around machinery and knives. Must be able to wear a hairnet, latex gloves, hearing protection, as well as any other PPE. Must be able to work in an environment with temperatures that consistently are as low as 45 degrees. Must be able to work in an environment that has spices and/or mold. What benefits do we offer ?
