Job Description

Overview Join our manufacturing team as an Extruder Operator and play a vital role in producing high-quality plastic products through advanced extrusion processes. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery, ensure product excellence, and contribute to efficient manufacturing operations. As an Extruder Operator, you will be at the forefront of transforming raw materials into finished goods, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining safety and quality standards across the production floor. Duties Operate and monitor plastics extrusion machinery, ensuring smooth and efficient production runs. Set up and adjust equipment using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to meet specifications. Conduct quality inspections on extruded products, verifying dimensions and surface finish to uphold quality standards. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control machine functions and troubleshoot operational issues promptly. Handle materials safely using forklift and materials handling equipment to load raw materials and move finished products. Perform routine maintenance on extrusion machinery, including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and fabrication tools. Document production data accurately, including shift reports, quality logs, and equipment maintenance records. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and optimizing workflow processes. Assist with fabrication tasks such as assembly or plastics blow molding when needed to meet production demands. Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment. Experience Prior experience operating plastics extrusion machinery or in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of plastics injection molding, blow molding, and machining techniques such as CNC lathe operations is advantageous. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), press brake machines, CNC equipment, and other fabrication tools. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery setup, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Warehouse experience including materials handling with forklifts or similar equipment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments are essential. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in daily operations. Shift availability We're hiring 2 operators for the 12 hour day shift, Monday through Thursday 7am-7pm We're hiring 2 operators for the 12 hour night shift, Monday through Thursday 7pm-7am
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
