Extruder Operator Trainee

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Extruder Operator Trainee to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in plastics extrusion and manufacturing processes while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. As a trainee, you will learn to operate extrusion machinery, perform quality inspections, and support production workflows, setting the foundation for a rewarding career in manufacturing. Responsibilities Assist in setting up and operating plastics extrusion equipment under supervision, ensuring smooth production flow. Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify product specifications. Support materials handling activities, including loading raw materials and managing finished goods within the warehouse. Learn to troubleshoot basic machinery issues, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and press brake machines, with guidance from senior operators. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to safety standards and lean manufacturing principles. Participate in fabrication and assembly tasks as needed, utilizing hand tools and fabrication equipment like CNC lathes or CNC machines. Follow safety procedures diligently, including forklift operation training, to ensure a safe working environment. Requirements Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in manufacturing processes such as plastics blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and quality assessments. Familiarity with hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments is a plus. Willingness to learn about plastics extrusion technology, CNC machining, and materials handling procedures. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for quality inspection tasks. Ability to work safely with equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred) and press brake machines. Prior warehouse experience or exposure to manufacturing environments is advantageous but not required; training will be provided. Shift availability We're hiring 2 assistant operators for the 12 hour day shift, Monday through Thursday 7am-7pm We're hiring 2 assistant operators for the 12 hour night shift, Monday through Thursday 7pm-7am

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
