Kelly Services is seeking a Temporary Assembly Operator III to join our team. This role focuses on the assembly, termination, and testing of fiber optic cable assemblies in a clean room environment. The position supports the entire manufacturing process, from prototypes to production, and involves problem-solving, teamwork, and commitment to safety and quality standards. Shift:
Weekend, Friday-Sunday, 7AM-7PM Pay Rate:
$26.84/hr ($22/hr base, plus shift differential) City/State :
Arden, NC Key Responsibilities:
Polish and test fiber optic cables. Assemble and package fiber optic connector components. Terminate single and multi-fiber cables. Operate fiber router and complete over-molding processes as needed. Support builds and testing for prototypes, pre-releases, and NPI products. Measure components with calipers, gauges, or other devices. Complete operational paperwork for product traceability. Troubleshoot and make minor equipment repairs. Perform cleaning, contamination assessments, and workmanship checks. Operate equipment safely and identify potential issues. Suggest process improvements and estimate expected process durations. Communicate with team members to ensure high quality and customer satisfaction. Inspect products according to quality standards, work instructions, and prints. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, following all safety guidelines and company policies. Willing to work overtime to support production goals. Work Environment:
Clean room environment requiring use of gowning and PPE (gowns, shoe booties, hair nets, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes). Requirements:
High School diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience required, with understanding of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. Minimum 1 year experience in a fiber optic manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with SAP Manufacturing and ISO 9001
preferred. Strong hand-eye dexterity and motor skills for detailed tasks. Experience with hand tools and blueprint reading preferred. Comfortable working with small parts under a microscope. Good time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects. Attention to detail and ability to follow bills of material, job routers, and engineering drawings.
