Non‑Exempt About the Role We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Flexographic Printing Trainee to join our Printing Department. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a skilled trade in an advanced manufacturing environment. No prior printing experience is required — we provide full on‑the‑job training. As your skills grow, so will your opportunities for advancement. In this role, you will train to assist the Machine Lead Operator with setting up and operating wide‑web flexographic printing presses and related equipment. You will learn how to perform changeovers, troubleshoot issues, maintain equipment, and ensure high‑quality production. Key Responsibilities Assist with changing printing plates or cylinders Prepare, load, and feed base materials into the press; adjust tension controls Learn to clean and maintain printing presses, ink systems, and related equipment Review Job Work Orders to understand customer specifications and printing requirements Inspect materials and samples to ensure quality and accuracy Measure product dimensions using rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers Enter job settings into computerized printing systems (OCS) Monitor automated system screens for print or machine issues Accurately record production and quality data Load materials manually or with tools/equipment Weigh or measure materials to verify specifications Remove completed or defective products and package them appropriately Communicate production issues to supervisors Perform general cleaning and other facility‑wide tasks as needed Requirements High School Diploma or GED Manufacturing experience preferred but not required Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with production processes is a plus Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability Ability to follow safety rules, hygiene standards, and company procedures Basic English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills Basic math and computer skills High attention to detail Ability to safely operate machinery, tools, and material‑handling equipment (training provided) Ability to work around industrial chemicals, inks, and adhesives while using required PPE Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move 50-75 lbs.
