Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laser Operator - I to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Mitsubishi laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output while adhering to safety standards and production schedules. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in advanced manufacturing processes and contribute to the creation of top-tier products Nesting/pathing is experience is a plus ! Responsibilities Set up and operate Mitsubishi laser cutting machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately produce parts. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect finished components for quality compliance. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including handling sheet metal and tooling with care. Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime. Follow safety protocols diligently when operating machinery such as plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC mills, lathes, and welding stations. Assist with fabrication tasks including assembly, welding, and use of hand tools as needed to support production goals. Skills Proficiency in CNC laser cutting technology and CNC programming fundamentals. Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical drawing interpretation. Experience with various manufacturing equipment including plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining tools. Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely within a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with quality inspection techniques using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments. Understanding of fabrication processes involving sheet metal, tooling setup, assembly techniques, and welding practices.
