Punch/Laser Combo Operator

Position Summary This position is responsible for daily operation and maintenance of the Trumpf punch/laser machine used in the manufacturing at USA Dutch Inc. The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate the punch and laser combination machine and monitor their displays and progress. Follow standard procedure work instructions and work towards achieving assigned tasks. Complete all aspects of set up and set up maintenance on the equipment being operated including loading, installation, and alignment of materials. Perform parts nesting, load, and set up programs from shop drawings and setup sheets with minimal supervision or independently. Read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings, and documents. Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures. Inspect own work and use inspection tools. Operate forklift to load, unload and handle materials required to achieve job results. Looks for opportunities to improve the efficiency of the machine. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Must have at least 1 2 years of experience with punch and laser machine operation (Combo) Experience working with different Trumpf machine models an asset. Must have knowledge of metal fabrication and experience with different types of metals i.e., stainless, mildsteel and aluminum. Must be able to perform parts nesting functions, load and set up program. Experience operating a forklift to load and unload materials. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Ability and willingness to learn and be trained to learn new skills.
