Job Description

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:
Safety:
Report all job related injuries to the supervisor immediately. Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs, which identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by the Company.
Attendance:
Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.
Work ethics:
Maintain personal work habits that meet the demands and stresses of the job. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Maintain good work relationships with co-workers. Work overtime as needed to accomplish tasks
Duties:
Perform the following duties according to
ISO 9001
work instructions and standards: Obtain materials needed to run the sample. Stop best loom for running the sample from production, change pattern and picks, and make any adjustments necessary to run samples. Weave samples. Be sure patterns run correctly. Check picks. Doff samples and deliver them as requested. Bring any fabric that weaver is unsure of to Sample Supervisor. Set up loom as it was previously after samples are completed. Report sample downtime on production looms so that compensation is made to production weaver. Turn in a daily yardage report to Sample Weaving Supervisor.
OTHER JOB ELEMENTS
: Perform other duties as needed to do the job or as required by the supervisor.
EDUCATION, TRAINING OR SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB
Experience in doffing, pattern changing, weaving. Minor fixing ability. Good physical condition for heavy lifting Ability to make minor corrections on JC4 (such as selvage changes) Knowledge of networking and use of electronics on Thema looms Basic reading, writing and math skills Knowledge of scanning tickets for SAP
