Job Title:
Offset Feeder Job Description The Offset Feeder supports the efficient and safe operation of a high-speed production line by staging pallets of raw paper, keeping machines consistently stocked, and assisting the lead machine operator. This role requires strong attention to detail, comfort working around production machinery, and a desire to learn machine operation with the potential to transition into a machine operator position after the contract period. Responsibilities Stage pallets of raw paper to ensure printing operations run smoothly and without interruption. Monitor and maintain a continuous supply of paper to the offset machine, ensuring it is always stocked and ready to feed. Work closely with the Aerator operator to keep the production line supplied with all necessary materials. Train alongside the lead machine operator to learn machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting with the goal of progressing into a machine operator role. Visually inspect finished products for damage, defects, or other non-conforming conditions and remove any that do not meet quality standards. Ensure cartons are correctly stacked and placed on pallets in accordance with company standards and specifications. Identify off-quality cartons and place them on the designated waste pallet for operator review and disposition. Assist the operator in producing quality cartons that meet customer specifications while maintaining optimal line speeds. Report any unsafe conditions or potential hazards immediately to the Operator, Team Lead, or Shift Supervisor. Support clean-up activities and assist with troubleshooting efforts during machine downtime to help quickly restore production. Perform general production tasks such as picking, packing, assembly, and packaging as needed to support overall workflow. Assist with material handling duties, including unloading, palletizing, and moving materials to and from the production area. Support shipping and receiving activities as needed, including the use of RF scanners and other warehouse tools. Perform additional production-related duties as assigned by management to support team and plant objectives. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work confidently around production and printing machines. Experience working in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment. Ability and willingness to learn machine operation and progress into a machine operator role. Experience with general labor tasks such as picking, packing, assembly, and packaging. Ability to perform visual inspections and identify damaged or non-conforming products. Experience with palletizing and stacking cartons or materials to defined standards. Basic material handling skills, including unloading and moving materials on pallets. Comfort using RF scanners and working in a shipping and receiving or warehouse setting. Ability to support quality inspection activities and follow established quality standards. Willingness to work night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safe work practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in light assembly or general production roles. Exposure to machine operating or machine operation support responsibilities. Forklift or powered industrial truck experience is helpful for material handling. Experience in entry-level general production work, including warehouse packing and order picking. Comfort working with state-of-the-art production equipment in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large, clean, climate-controlled production facility equipped with state-of-the-art printing and production machines. The position follows a night shift schedule from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 rotation, providing a predictable and consistent work pattern. Team members work with modern material handling equipment, RF scanners, and automated machinery in an organized, professional environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whitsett, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.17 - $17.90/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
