This person will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser-guided concrete screeding equipment and laser grading equipment to achieve precise floor elevations and high-quality concrete slab finishes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate laser screed equipment to accurately level and finish freshly placed concrete. Read and interpret construction plans, grade elevations, and project specifications. Set up and use laser systems and grade control equipment including total station. Coordinate with concrete crews, finishers, pump operators, and project supervisors during placement operations. Monitor concrete consistency and placement conditions to ensure optimal screed performance. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs on laser screed equipment. Troubleshoot operational issues and communicate equipment needs to supervisors and maintenance personnel. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite requirements. Assist with additional concrete construction activities, including grading, forming, finishing, and pouring as needed. Qualifications Required Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, and slab construction techniques. Ability to read construction drawings, elevations, and grade stakes. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, CDL a plus. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to project sites as needed. Preferred Laser screed operating experience. Familiarization with Somero or Ligchine screeds. Total station knowledge and use. Skid steer and laser grader operator experience. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely for extended periods. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and grade accuracy. Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Commitment to quality workmanship and safety. Working Conditions This position involves work on active construction sites with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience. Heath and Dental - QC pays 100% of employee premiums.
