Job Title:
Tube Laser Operator Job Description This role focuses on operating CNC tube laser equipment to produce precision parts for agricultural and transportation products. You will work directly from blueprints, set up and adjust CNC programs, and ensure accurate, efficient production while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety. Responsibilities Operate CNC tube laser machines to manufacture parts for agricultural and transportation products according to production requirements. Set up CNC tube laser equipment, including loading programs, adjusting settings, and performing changeovers between different parts. Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and production specifications. Load and unload raw material and finished parts from the tube laser and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Monitor machine performance during production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality. Use measuring tools, including tape measures, to verify part dimensions and ensure they meet blueprint specifications. Perform basic troubleshooting of tube laser and related equipment to resolve minor issues and minimize downtime. Assist with routine machine maintenance tasks as needed to keep equipment in good working condition. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work and meet production deadlines. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience operating tube laser or similar equipment such as plasma, laser, or saw machines. Proven ability to set up and change over CNC machines between different parts and production runs. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to guide machine setup and verify finished parts. Experience operating CNC tube laser equipment or closely related CNC cutting machinery. Proficiency using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools for quality checks. Capability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently on CNC tube laser or similar machines. Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality specifications. Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Trumpf or similar tube laser equipment is a plus. Prior experience in manufacturing parts for agricultural or transportation products is beneficial. Comfort working from detailed blueprints and production documentation. Mechanical aptitude and interest in CNC machinery and metal fabrication. Willingness to train on day shift initially and transition to a night shift schedule. Flexibility to work overtime on Fridays as production needs require. Why Work Here? The standard schedule for this role is Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime available on Fridays as needed. New hires typically train on the day shift for 3 to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly they learn the equipment and processes, before moving to the night shift. A shift differential of $2 per hour applies when working the night shift. The role involves regular use of CNC tube laser equipment, measuring tools such as tape measures, and blueprint documentation in a production shop setting. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
