This position is hands-on and detail-oriented, focused on producing accurate, consistent tabs for manuals, book components, dividers, pharmaceutical materials, and other finished products. The right candidate has strong mechanical ability, understands the importance of precision, and can work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards. What You'll Do Review job tickets and confirm job specifications before beginning each run. Set up and operate tabbing equipment to produce accurate tab placement, cutting, and finishing. Run laminated and/or plain index tab jobs according to customer specifications. Make machine adjustments for tab size, position, material, sheet alignment, and production quality. Follow established Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) procedures, including line clearance, documentation, and quality checks. Partner with QA and production staff to maintain high product standards. Monitor production output and make adjustments to minimize downtime and waste. Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve them quickly and safely. Record setup, production, quality, and maintenance details using electronic forms or production logs. Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, consistency, registration, and overall quality. Assist with packing, counting, and staging finished work when needed. Perform routine and preventative maintenance; complete maintenance logs. Support other bindery and finishing operations as needed. Take on additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Experience operating tabbing, index tabbing, laminating/tab cutting, or related bindery finishing equipment. Experience with Scotty, Scott-Precision, or similar tabbing equipment is a strong plus. Previous work in a manufacturing, bindery, printing, or print finishing environment. Pharmaceutical, book, manual, or specialty finishing experience is a plus. High school diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Ability to read and follow job tickets, measurements, and production instructions. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills.
