Assembly Department Associate
OVERVIEW
Are you detail-oriented, dependable, and interested in developing new skills in a fast-paced production environment? We're looking for a motivated Assembly Department Associate to join our growing team. In this role, you will support a variety of value-added services including assembly, kitting, relabeling, rework projects, and other client-specific production activities. While this position will spend time working on assembly lines alongside the production team, it also offers opportunities to become involved in more specialized projects, equipment operation, and quality-focused assignments within the department. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work, follows instructions carefully, and is eager to learn new processes and equipment. We are looking for a responsible individual who can be trusted to support special projects, maintain equipment properly, and contribute to the overall success of the Assembly Department.

This is a full-time role payrolled through a staffing agency, but you will report directly to Market Speed Logistics each day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform assembly, kitting, packaging, relabeling, and rework activities according to client specifications and production requirements. Work efficiently on assembly lines while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and quality standards. Inspect products, labels, components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company standards. Assist with vendor violation projects, including inspecting inbound products that have been identified for review, relabeling products when necessary, reorganizing inventory, and preparing materials to meet customer and company requirements. Apply labels, stickers, inserts, shrink bands, cello wrap, and other packaging components as required. Operate department equipment and machinery, including cello machine and other production equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Follow Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, client specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain accurate production counts and documentation as required. Keep workstations, equipment, and production areas clean, organized, and safe. Communicate product, quality, equipment, or production concerns to management team. Assist with special projects and other department initiatives as assigned. Other duties as assigned as necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Previous assembly, kitting, production, warehouse, manufacturing, packaging, or related experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate simple systems, enter information, and learn department software as needed. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and machinery. Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Flexibility to work overtime as needed, particularly during peak operational periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive production tasks.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience operating packaging or production equipment. Experience working with labeling projects, quality inspections, or compliance-related production work. Interest in learning additional responsibilities and growing within the Assembly Department.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a full-time position. Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on business needs, especially during our peak season of September 1st through December 15th. This position is currently payrolled through a staffing agency but reports directly to Market Speed Logistics at our facility in Cranbury, NJ. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stand, and move throughout the entire shift in a warehouse and production environment. Candidates must comply with OSHA and company safety protocols.

$17.00 - $17.75 per hour
