Job Title:
Compounder - 2nd Shift Job Description The Compounder on 2nd shift prepares and processes liquid and powder batches by accurately weighing, mixing, and documenting raw materials in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production environment. This role supports the creation of food, flavor, and fragrance products by following precise batch instructions, maintaining quality and safety standards, and collaborating with cross-functional team members. Responsibilities Retrieve raw ingredients and verify their identity, weight, and contents before use. Accurately measure ingredients using scales and other measuring equipment according to standard batch instructions. Mix various ingredients, including liquids and powders, using appropriate compounding methods such as blending, homogenizing, and spray drying. Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute them to the correct concentration, and record all raw material usage accurately. Identify and melt solid ingredients using hot plates while following safety and handling procedures. Follow standard batch instructions to weigh dyes and other substances and add them to equipment in the correct sequence and quantity. Check batch consistency throughout the process and measure the viscosity of mixtures to ensure they meet specified standards. Collect samples from each batch and deliver them to the laboratory for required testing and quality verification. Conduct in-process batch inspections and document all process events, deviations, and adjustments in accordance with procedures and policies. Maintain quality standards by adhering to GMP requirements and verifying that all materials and processes meet established specifications. Follow food safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling, storage, and documentation of ingredients and finished batches. Maintain accurate and complete production records, including batch documentation, raw material usage logs, and inspection results. Handle and blend raw materials safely, following safety and sanitation protocols in the production area. Collaborate with team members in a cross-functional environment to ensure efficient production flow and timely completion of batches. Wear required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety and sanitation procedures. Work Environment This position operates in a team-based, cross-functional production environment on the 2nd shift, typically from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. You will work in a GMP-regulated facility focused on food, flavor, and fragrance products, using equipment such as scales, mixing vessels, hot plates, homogenizers, and spray drying systems. The role requires wearing a uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and following strict safety, sanitation, and food safety guidelines.
