Job Description

Job Summary Packaging Operator I is an entry-level position in the packaging department. Packaging Operator I is responsible for performing packaging procedures and executing diverse tasks on various packaging equipment. This position is responsible for following company SOPs, adhering to cGMP guidelines and all environmental, health, and safety guidelines, and maintaining high standards in compliance and quality during operations.

Reporting Relationships This position has no direct reports.

This position works under constant supervision. Essential Functions and Detailed Duties Must be able to complete the following packaging tasks: Operate assigned packaging equipment, including shutdown/start-up of the machines following the established procedures.

Be able to move around and place the required material for packaging so that it is ready to be utilized.

Ensure that all packaging components being used match the packaging set-up requirements.

Perform the filling function following the instructions in the packaging batch record.

Perform the capping function following the instructions in the packaging batch record.

Perform the labeling function following the instructions in the packaging batch record.

Perform the packing containers function following the instructions in the packaging batch record. Complete equipment cleaning according to established requirements and/or SOP.Perform basic mechanical functions including light troubleshooting, correcting simple machine malfunctions, and identifying routinary problemsFollow applicable safety guidelines while operating the packaging equipment.

After 1 year of experience and consistently satisfactory performance, can train new Packaging Operators I employees without experience.

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and guidelines.

Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace.

Follow applicable safety guidelines while operating the packaging equipment.

Be able to perform other duties as assigned. Specialized Skills and Knowledge Basic mathematical skills.

Basic mechanical abilities.

Ability to speak, read and write in English.

Must complete departmental SOP, GMP, and any required Qualifications.

Ability to work in a team.

Good dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Walking, standing, and ability to move or lift (50 lbs.)Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and guidelines. Must report unsafe conditions, near misses, and/or injuries in a timely manner. Experience and Education High school diploma or equivalent.

No previous experience required. Physical Demands/FactorsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands; talk; and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Compensation and Benefits Compensation:
This is a non-exempt position that pays $17.75 per hour.

This pay represents the base hourly rate. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus which aligns to both individual and company performance.
