Position Summary:
The Machine Operator 6 (PMO 3) role within our manufacturing plants supports our overall production team as they drive production to the highest safety, quality and efficiency standards. This position requires work exposure in multiple areas in our refrigerated production environment. Responsible for the maintenance of the bagger and label printer equipment. Machine Operator 6 (PMO 3) is responsible for meeting all productivity goals and product specifications with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, SQF, HACCP, Sanitation guidelines and processes. Full understanding of production schedule, establish Bagged Salad Efficiency (Production Rates & BPM), set up the bagger (Hayssen) per bag specification and ability to understand RPDMS and JDE yields and efficiency. Validate quality of the bag (air testing, seals, code date, weight, nitrogen, volume, etc.), conduct quality inspections and Certify the bag meets product and order specifications and visual checks of defect, FO's, size, color, quality, etc. Manage and reduce waste (product giveaway/fim) by use of scale system Lift/ carry forming tubes and adjust to bagger (50lbs) and Lift/ carry film roll and adjust to bagger equipment (50lbs). Knowledge of all on-site bagger operations and ability to operate multiple baggers at one time and perform advanced preventative maintenance (trouble shoot, identify and repair mechanical inefficiencies, lubricate, corrective maintenance, programming bagger and scales) Knowledge & understanding of how to maintain a safe work environment, maintain a clean work area, work safely around moving equipment & conveyors in a wet environment and report all accidents and safety concerns to Department Leadership immediately. Communicate verbally & in writing to complete required documentation. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of GMP's &, Safety Guidelines. Knowledge of HACCP & Sanitation guidelines & process 6 Months related experience or 6 Months on the job training. Basic knowledge of scale system (Ishida & Yamato) Basic knowledge and operation of the Bagger equipment (Hayssen) Comprehension of basic math and basic computer skills. Willingness to work in a cold environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment and ability to assist in training others. Able to work flexible schedule & ability to work in a fast paced environment.. Ability to understand plant KPI's (production, quality & safety). Ability to be cross-trained & multitask in multiple positions. Reading, Writing, Speaking English. GED/High School Diploma.
