SUMMARY:

This position works in a kitchen-environment and is responsible for packaging cups, containers, and bags of popcorn for all retail sales. This position will sift and inspect the popcorn for quality assurance, package the popcorn, and send it to distribution for final sorting and packaging. In addition, this position will prepare and put away the necessary equipment for packaging each day, and ensure that the packaging area remains organized and hygienic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Prepare the bagging/packaging area each morning with the necessary equipment for sifting and packaging popcorn. Sift each batch of popcorn to prevent crumbs, burnt popcorn pieces, and chunks of caramel/sugar from entering the packaging. Package cups, containers, and bags of popcorn, and prepare samples for in-house retail sales. Clean and put away all equipment used each day for bagging/packaging.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Assist distribution with putting labels on cups, containers, bags, and other types of packaging. Other duties specific to packaging, as assigned by the management team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Ability to stand upright for 4-8 hours each day. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Strong communication/teamwork skills preferred.

PAY & COMPENSATION

The pay rate for this position starts at $13.50/hour, Additional benefits include two paid ten minute breaks per full workday (8hrs), or one paid ten minute break for shifts lasting six hours or less, paid sick leave.

SCREENING & COMPLIANCE

Employee must comply with all company and departmental policies, especially those involving the safety of fellow workers, customers, and product vendors. Employee must maintain a current and valid driver's license to perform work duties IF their position requires travel by a motor vehicle. Employee must report any injuries that occur in the workplace to the head of their department immediately, including personal injuries and injuries to a coworker, customer, etc. that were witnessed by the employee.
