Job Description

Job Title Machine Operator - 2 / FLOATER Job Number 51-4081.00 Department All CSS Production Departments Reports to Supervisor/Leader Primary Position Objectives Multi-talented, flexible employees who are highly adaptable and are willing to lend their skills - and learn new ones - to help wherever it is needed. Possess the qualifications and skills necessary to perform a variety of different job duties Work under direction, tending a variety of machines. Position Responsibilities Tend Machines Working to department procedures. Responsible for stopping the machine when parts do not meet requirements. Alert to deviation changes-visual only. Use and understand principles of quality control. Maintains production records. May be required to stack skids or pallets in designated areas. May be required to dispose of scrap, cardboard boxes, etc. May be required to perform packing duties. This includes receiving packing instructions to customer specifications, insuring correct packing materials are being used and cartons are properly labeled. May be required to assemble packing materials as required. Performs various bench work assignments in various departments such as sorting, testing, etc. Department Goals 100% productivity rate 100% attendance 100% on-time delivery Zero past due Zero customer returns Tasks Based on Department Operate Heat Set Equipment, Bench Top Resistance Welders, Automatic Power Press, Secondary Automatic Press, Spring Coiler, Spring Secondary Grinder, Spring "Kick" Press, Spring Automatic Set Out Machine, Bench Grinder, Assembly Equipment, Riveters. Uses Fixtures, Gages, etc. as assigned. Other Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement. May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Qualifications Education Experience High School graduate or demonstration of equivalent skills. Basic math skills Ability to understand and follow instructions Ability to understand written instructions. Manual dexterity skills. Physical Requirements Visual Sharpness (corrected) to operate machines (including visual inspection procedures). Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. Substantial movements (motions) of the arms, wrists, hand and /or fingers. Ability to lift objects from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally from position-to-position.
