The Packaging Tech 2 will assist with the production of an uninterrupted supply of safe, pure and properly finished products, ensuring no lapse in supply to dispensaries or Wholesale Partners. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a willingness to continually learn more about the subject and will have completed a series of secondary specialized trainings. How you'll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities) : Directly responsible for leading a small team of Packaging Technician tier 1's through the execution of a variety of daily tasks which are vital to the production of the highest quality medicine. Additionally, responsible for disseminating information, providing regular technical support, and reporting status updates to the Production Manager. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high-stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when the situation requires. Weigh and dispense actives of finished product raw materials and excipients. Operate downstream machinery including Final Packaging equipment associated with, but not limited to heating, diluting, mixing, cooking, dispensing, encapsulation, compression, packaging, labeling and storing. Sample preparations and logging for analytical testing. Document all Final Packaging activities consistent with Manufacturing Practices. Participate in commissioning new process equipment. Perform manual Final Packaging activities as required Perform manual, semi-automatic and automatic equipment cleaning and sanitization, including controlled drying and storage procedures. Maintain Final Packaging and facility spaces in a clean and hygienic state. Performs daily safety inspections of filling and final packaging equipment. Perform minor equipment and facility maintenance activities. Utilize proprietary software regarding detailed, regulated material identification labeling, location and inventory level tracking. Perform compliance activities regarding instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance. May help in other departments as needed/Other duties as assigned. Supervisor Relationship:
The Packaging Technician II will report to the Packaging Manager and will understand that in the absence of the manager, they will oversee the floor. The Packaging Tech II will work alongside the manager to maintain the integrity of all policy, processes and procedures implemented by the manager. The Packaging Tech II may direct questions or concerns to the manager under the assumption that conversations remain open and inclusive. The authority to make changes and decisions is vested in the acting manager at the time, though any changes or alterations in planning or procedure must be relayed to the manager. In the absence of the manager, it is expected that the Tech 2 can and will fulfill the role of Acting Lead on the floor in their respective spaces, while being respectful of staff seniority and working alongside any other Tech-2s to effectively manage time and resources. Attend weekly meetings with the manager, and any other Tech-2's - prepare and present situational updates on production, facilities, supplies, etc. Review the cultivation schedule and forecasts for key dates, quantities, strains, etc. Advise on the effects of management decisions relating to cultivation, nutrients, workflow and morale. Administrative Duties:
Knowledge of basic computer & office equipment operations (Google Suite; Sheets, Docs, Drive. Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Office Equipment; Copiers, Printers, Telephone Systems). Math required for inventory, projections, and measurements. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required. Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail Interpret and follow complex, written, verbal and technical instructions Must be able to adhere to facility SOPs Learn complex technical procedures in a timely manner Excellent time-management skills; Ability to effectively plan and prioritize Ability to maintain confidentiality; Absolute reliability and honesty Ability to focus; Attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a team; Ability to communicate clearly and calmly Skill in managing physical resources (budgeting, inventories, equipment, materials) Mechanical skills Qualifications:
Education and Experience Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of packaging, labeling, and/or production experience strongly preferred. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary focus and attention to detail. Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with colleagues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Computers and Technology Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Ability to understand and operate packaging and labeling equipment Ability to learn, navigate and accurately utilize the company's seed-to-sale tracking software where applicable.
