Job Description

Printroom Operator Job Summary:
The printroom operator operates one printer or multiple printers learning how to operate the printer, monitor print queues, and process orders accurately.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: . Ability to learn how to monitor print queues and printing jobs as prioritized by our current ERP Ability to assure accuracy of orders before processing Load and unload print media from printer, verify media meets the specification for each job Media is not limited to printable paper or materials and may include physical products such as coolers or other completed products. Unpack media for printing May preform assembly and packing after printing Refill printer ink Basic understanding of appropriate material to complete order requirements per BOM in our current ERP Monitoring printer performance to make sure the printer is printing properly Understand written work orders and other work-related documents Accurately monitor print quality for color, resolution and image quality Ability to learn how to correspond artwork from data base Prepare artwork for printing to assure quality and accuracy When work order is completed, label printed material as per specifications to assure accurate identification Scan material, scrap and work order as specified Understanding and ability to perform basic preventive maintenance on print equipment Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all printers Contact production leads and/or supervisors to resolve art issues or any other inconsistencies or anomalies on the order Inform lead and/or supervisors of art or printer errors or issues Meets attendance expectations as outlined in the employee handbook Willingness and ability to flex throughout the production department into several Production roles at a moment's notice All other duties as assigned by supervisor Skills/Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent is required Experience with RIP Software (Caldera\NeoStampa\ColorPrint\Onyx) preferred Large format printing experience preferred PC literate; basic computer experience required Pre-press graphics experience a plus Ability to use fractional measurements Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask Ability to accurately set up and operate machines Capability to work with heavy and large material. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple English instruction, short correspondence, and memos Mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure Demonstrated problem solving skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Capable of fixing minor problems and use mechanical abilities to adjust machinery Manual dexterity is needed to manipulate materials Must be able to follow written instructions, read a tape measure, and do simple math calculations Ability to clearly express ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form with good listening and comprehension skills Build rapport up, down and across the organization and establish collaborative relationships to achieve objectives and display empathy and tolerate diverse viewpoints Exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views and give and welcome feedback Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support everyone's efforts to succeed Ability to follow policy and procedures and complete tasks correctly and on time while striving to continuously build knowledge and skills Availability to work weekend and overtime shifts as needed

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
