Machine Operator

Job Description:

Load coils of metal onto uncoiler by overhead crane, and feed roll into machine Positions material to align roller dies and adjusts rolls to thickness of metal, using feelers, gauges, and hand tools. Sets up and operates machine to form longitudinal bends of sheet metal coils by action progressive roller dies to form profiled items cut to length as specified by work order. Input cutting parameters into computer to set product cut length and quantities which activates automatic shear when specified length of strips has been run. Assist with maintaining Inventory and restocking materials inbound from suppliers utilizing forklift and stage material in its designated inventory location. When running specific alloys, directs flow of coolant onto rolls when required. Starts machine, observes operation, and verify dimensions, finish and shape of finished products, using micrometers, tape measures and gauges. Perform quality inspections of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.

Perform routine maintenance inspections:

may verify coolant levels in machine and oil and grease moving parts as specified. Will train, experience is a plus but not required. Roll forming set up experience a big plus. Mechanical ability needed. Will train motivated worker. Some heavy lifting required . Some English preferred, must work well with others.
