We are currently looking for a Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a hard worker who is willing to work in a team environment. The Machine Operator will operate various machines and equipment to prepare the product. This includes, the fryer, seasoners, and peeler as well as knowing or learning how to run heavy equipment (bobcat and fork trucks). This position works Monday-Friday 5:30 am- 3:30 pm (Day Shift) or Monday-Thursday 3:30 am -2:00 am (Night Shift) Key responsibilities: Observes operation and speed of fryer and makes adjustments when necessary. Clears jams and performs basic troubleshooting. Monitors and fills seasoning machines as necessary. Ensures that there is a consistent flow of product (potato chips, tortilla chips, or kettle chips) on the conveyor and the correct amount of seasoning flowing onto chips. Ensures the salts are within standard. Maintains accurate records of seasoning used. Take unused seasoning down and put it back on the proper pallet. Keep the seasoning area clean and complete the end of the production week clean. Safely and efficiently cleans the equipment parts during the changeovers. Responsible for keeping seasonings with allergens stored away from other seasonings. Communicates frequently with quality inspectors, packers, packaging machine operators, and the quality assurance lab to guarantee product quality. Observes operation and speed of potato peeler and adjusts when necessary. Maintains a clean and safe work area, disposing of excess materials. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow directions. Ability to assess products for quality compliance. Good time management skills. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at one time and able to stand for long periods of time while performing job duties. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects. Must be able to navigate the plant and reach items both high and low.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working in both manufacturing and warehouse environments is preferred. Basic math and recording abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well on a team but be self-motivated and independent.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
